My Uncle Jock's reign as beard of the Rugby World Cup comes to an end
A short but glorious reign it was too: here he is with the trophy:

The photographer did a better job than the cameraman though! OK so this was all really the man of the match presentation to Canada's Adam Kleeburger thanks to Mastercard. If there was a beard of the tournament though, I'd be betting on Adam Kleeburger!

Why Travel?
Chris Guillebeau comes up with some reasons. I'd like to offer a twist on one of them: because, if you take the time to listen, you'll meet people who are fundamentally the same as you! Are we all different? Of course—but at our core, the differences are small compared to our common humanity.
When you realise this you might start looking at the world in a subtly different way. Words like 'foreigner' and 'immigrant' might begin to mean something slightly different and national borders might appear a little more arbitrary, and somewhat less important than they used to. Or maybe they won't. Maybe you'll think I'm wrong – but at least you'll have been to some cool places trying to prove it...
